there's always a drill in the back of the in the background so it's i don't know really i get so bogged down at work that i forget that i'm running a business i feel like i'm just working yeah i forget that actually i need to keep this this boat rowing because i know come come the winter it gets gets a bit nasty yeah it does for all for all of us and the video and the marketing content and churning out content all the time think of it think of it as like insurance you don't you might not need it now because you're busy but like you said then winter months will creep up and the marketing that you do today you know you'll be getting leads from that in the future not necessarily right now whoever's pushing the hardest with the marketing whoever's in that three pack on google they're the people that are getting all the leads the thing is i it didn't take me long to catch them up because i knew they got complacent on on google because i was living nottingham come down two years ago i looked at the competition and i was like they've only got 25 star reviews i thought that's that's easy really do you use an invitation link down to get your reviews or you're just asking them personally asking at the end of every job i'll i'll put it into their head at the start and at the end of every job then at the end i'll just go on to kind of almost in script now i already know what i'm gonna say i'm like oh if you're happy with the job would you mind just leaving us a review it really helps us um in the future moving on and it gives future customers an insight into who we are what we do and then nine times out of ten not every customer will leave you a review review but at the end of the job i'll then on your google business profile there's there's a button that says share get more reviews then all you do copy that link send it to your customer and then just leave them another note saying it would really help us moving forward you know yeah that's that's part of it that's a good strategy and what i sometimes do as well is i mentioned this before if you do a little extra for example now i mean i'll give you an example on one job on i took a couple of bits of architrave off um so i could get a clean finish and then i put them back on and at the end of the job the customer says um oh and what what are you for doing the architraves says i don't worry about it says what would really help me out actually if you could just leave a five star review don't worry about paying me for that um but if you could leave us a five star review i'd really appreciate it and then they're like yeah yeah yeah because they feel sort of like i owe him yeah so that that's another good strategy you'd probably do these things for free but you know you you're just asking them and showing them that you're willing to go that extra step could could they meet you halfway and you know help you as well so i think you've got to remember with google my business is it's not going to happen overnight no sooner you do it the better you know you're not going to have leads coming through because you've gone and got two or three reviews in a week but you need to just be so consistent with it and eventually it will sort itself out
